Countdown to Halloween

15

29.10.12

Thanks to Pinterest, I found this great idea for bat o’lanterns, made from mini pumpkins, of course! I adore them! The contrast of the black against all the orange of Halloween is perfect! And, if you’re looking for some cheap paint for your crafty projects, run to Home Depot right now. All the Martha Stewart test pots are on sale for 25 cents, and you can tint them to whatever color you want! I was there today, and picked up the black for this project. Yes, also 25 cents! (The paint line has been discontinued… so get them while you can!)

Decorating for Fall

04.10.12

I went shopping with Kerry last weekend and fell in love with the Fall decor inside the stores! I was excited to come home and start decorating our home! I like to keep it simple, and stick to natural elements, and at this time of year that is easy! The ornamental squash, paired with berries from my parents yard, look great placed in my new two toned IKEA bowl.

I couldn’t resist picking up these berry branches from my local grocery store for our dining room table. But, I’m not sure what these branches are called, so if you know please do share!

We are celebrating a long Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so I’ve prettied it up just in time! We’re heading out to buy some pumpkins, having a hotdog roast with friends, and attending multiple turkey dinners this weekend! Should be a good one! I hope yours is too! What have you got in store?

IDSwest Opening Night

27

29.9.12

I had such an amazing time checking out IDSwest with some of my blogging friends on opening night. I have so many pictures to show you, but for now I just have to share the star of the show… this amazing kitchen was the Aya Kitchens booth, designed by Kelly Deck Design.

Isn’t it fabulous! You should have seen the amount of people swarming the booth all night! I’m back to the show today to check out Tommy (he’s kind of like Madonna to us design lovers, you only need to say his first name!) Smythe, Suzanne Dimma, and Mark Challen’s presentations. And I can’t wait for the party afterwards!

If you were thinking about heading down to check it out I highly recommend it! IDSwest is bigger and better this year than I’ve ever seen it. I’d love to hear what your favorite part of the show is!

Enjoy your weekend y’all!

Do you remember the pics of Beaver Brook that I showed you a while back? Well, the people that created it have started a blog dedicated to all things cabin, aptly named Cabin Porn. Serious daydream fodder people!

To thank the hubby for the head’s up on this I’m including the pic below, because this is what he dreams about… no, not the wood-fired hot tub. The wood. He loves chopping wood. Must be a guy thing. ;)

Mud Room Inspiration

07.2.12

I am so excited! We are making headway on the laundry room/mudroom this week! The room hasn’t been touched since we renovated the adjoining powder room! Doors arrive tomorrow!! I’m hoping to have some pics to share soon, but in the meantime… I’ve been searching the web for mud room & laundry room inspiration, and thought I’d share some of my favourite mud room pics with you today! If you want some more eye candy, I’ve added all these pics (and many more) onto my Pinterest boards! (Are you on Pinterest too?)
