We added a fireplace to the backyard this weekend! And what better way to welcome it to the family than with a S’mores roast! We’re having an extended summer with all this warm weather, so I see a repeat in the very near future. But first, we need to get those bright yellow stickers off the front!
Hope your weekend was fun too! What did you get up to?

Oh WOW that is awesome – and perfect for Fall. I wish we had a spot for one! Looks amazing Rosa.
What fun Rosa…I played some Rock Band, went to a Farmer’s Market, spent some time with my Family. It was relaxed and delightful.
Oh how I love Farmer’s Markets! We hit one on Sunday too! π
Oh YUM! I love smores! I had a relaxing weekend. ‘Twas my birthday so I did absolutely nothing and didn’t feel guilty about it for a second! π
Happy Birthday Meesh!!!
That looks amazing Rosa!
Thanks Heather! π
This is perfect Rosa!! Fireplaces and fire pits really extend our chilly-September/October evening use of a backyard, hey? Enjoy!!
Victoria
Thanks Victoria! I am so happy to have a nice focal point in our backyard, especially one that throws some warmth! π

Thanks Rebecca! We are pretty smitten too! π You’re always welcome to come over!
HA! Good choice, as you know, I’m a big fan of a warm fire in the back yard. I look forward to yummy smores when I get back from Europe ….. oooooh, even in the snow it would be fun. Great pics too.
I know! Hot chocolate and S’mores in the snow by an outdoor fire! The Best! Of course, in my imagination my feet aren’t numb and my kids aren’t whining that they’re cold. π haha!
LOVE LOVE LOVE it Rosa!!!
Hee hee, great reaction, thanks Angela! π
Wow, that’s a beauty of a fireplace! I love outdoor fireplaces, and would love to have one to enjoy. I can see your family spending many incredible evenings together out there… so much fun!
Looks great! This thing looks pretty heavy duty too which is nice compared to some flimsy looking pits!
Thanks Amy! π It is super sturdy and crazy heavy unit! Definitely not a one person job to put that baby in place!
now that’s how you do a backyard fireplace… wanna design the new section of our house? great, thanks. xo
Hahah!!! You don’t want me designing your house… it would get finished sometime in 2015. :0 Kind of like the speed with which I respond to emails!!! Seriously, I’m SO behind right now.
oh wow…great looking fireplace! and yummy looking smores! I think your pics of WEST ELM are so good! love the angles!
So Rosa, where’d you get the fireplace, and what kind of assembly did it require? I notice it is wood. We have a pipe at the back of the house to run natural gas if we ever decide to do something similar. Btw, down at Pt. Roberts they sell chocolate-covered grahams. Saves a s’mores step!
We bought the fireplace at Canadian Tire. You can find it here: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/2/OutdoorLiving/PatioHeating/OutdoorFireplaces/PRD~0851690P/Kingston+Outdoor+Fireplace.jsp?locale=en
I was very simple to set up. It came in two large heavy pieces. We love it!
So… when am I coming over for s’mores?
