In case you’re like me, and have been spending some time dreaming about what’s ahead in 2013, then here’s a short video you might like. I love looking up at the stars… and this video makes me want to grab a blanket, find a spot on the grass, and spend some time just looking up.
It’s been a really busy week at our house! My little sister is getting married this weekend! I’m the matron of honor, and the boys are also involved, so there has been a lot of last minute details to be taken care of. I made these pretty tissue paper pom-poms for my sister’s bridal shower using Martha’s tutorial. I can’t bring myself to recycle them, so I think I’ll be moving them into my office!
I’ll leave you with the newest song from The Avett Brothers. I was at their concert at the Orpheum on Tuesday night, and got to see them perform it live! Enjoy!! And have a great weekend!
I have found myself captivated with our yard this year. And the thought of growing food in our own backyard almost makes me giddy. Growing up, I remember thinking that gardening must be the least “cool” adult pastime there was. So monotonous, and void of any social interaction. Ha! Oh how things change. I started off gardening out of the necessity of being a home owner, but now the idea of it really appeals to me. And, is it just me, or has gardening become trendy?
The only downside is that it seems we’re not the only ones who have taken an interest in our backyard this year! Yes, this is the butt of the bear that was wandering through with a friend last week.
This weekend I’ll be planting some veggies in our new garden box. And, I’m hoping to find time to stain our new fence if the rain holds off. How about you? Whatever you’re up to I hope you have a great weekend! Oh, and don’t forget to treat your dads this weekend!
How was your weekend? Ours was full of sunshine! Lots of time spent in the garden ripping out weeds, tree stumps, etc. It’s that time of year, and we have so many ideas, making for a really long list! I’m excited to see what we can get done with a little elbow grease!

My aunt & uncle have been sending out emails every couple of weeks on the progress of the home that they are building out in farm country. Come December, when they move in, I hope to steal some shots of their amazing new home to share with you. The picture above is one of my favorites, from early on. Along with the picture updates, my uncle has been sharing his ever-growing Canadian Bucket List. Do any of you have a bucket list on the go? I didn’t, until I saw this video. I now have a strong desire to fly to Scotland, paddle out into the ocean, and wait.
It’s the little things that make me happy. For instance, before today I didn’t know how to embed a video into a post!! Yes. Laugh if you will. I’m really quite excited to add that to my bag of tricks! Spoken word and typography, perfect! Thanks for the link Jessica!
