Some of the little things that didn’t get done after our kitchen reno have been ignored for way too long. Things are now changing on that front! No more procrastination! I’ve painted the windowsill and trim, bought some chairs so that we can actually sit at the counter, had a bulletin board made to match the trim around the window. Oh, and do you like the cute little silver cupcake stand that is now my fruit stand? That was a freebie from a garage sale! The wonderful seller had seen me indecisively checking it out the whole time, so she sent it my way when it didn’t sell. Thanks Linda! The next step is to pick a paint color… I’ll be talking to you about that tomorrow!

My sweet 6 year old just got his gi (karate uniform) after a couple weeks of proving to us that he really wanted to stay with the karate class that he chose. We took him to try out a couple of different martial arts classes at various places to see what he liked, and he chose the class that was “more challenging”. The fact that he’s choosing the challenging option makes me very happy! He is SO excited and proud of his uniform. He slept in it last night, and he brought it to school for show and tell today. It’s amazing how much he’s learned and improved in just a couple of weeks!
As you can see in the background, Jason was cooking dinner when we got home from all the running around. Scrambled eggs – dinner of champions. : )
(Had to make it black and white, because of course the picture with the best expression on his face was the one where I forgot to turn off the flash.)
This weekend the boys got to attend a ninja themed birthday party! The hostess of the party, my friend Jessica, was quite busy making all things ninja, including these awesome ninja heads! When I followed the link to see where she had found her inspiration, I discovered Bakerella’s site! WOW! How could I have not heard of cake pops before now! I’m about as proficient at baking as I am at keeping plants alive, so I’m very impressed at what some people can do with cake batter. I think my boys would love to have the Star Wars cake pops at their next event.
While the boys were at party central, we blasted to Starbucks, and then down to Ikea to buy some items for the slowly moving master suite… more on that soon. I’m liking how it’s coming along!
How about you? What did you get up to this weekend?
Turquoise and purple are my two all time favorite colors, so you can only imagine how happy I was to see that Erin, over at House of Turquoise had posted about this small space that was featured on DigsDigs! I had to share with you guys! And since I’m working on my master that happens to feature a purple-ish pillow as the focal point this is such well timed eye candy! Love that wallpaper!! And what do you bet that the fabric on that awesome chair was the jumping off point for the whole room?
